About the event

A wild walk is open time and unplanned travel in a natural place – aimless wandering, wondering and asking.

ABOUT

This is a beautiful, day-long introduction to silence and solitude in nature, within a small group container. For those curious about wilderness journeying, this is the perfect place to begin.  For those interested in integrating deep experiences, this provides held, reflective space.  For those seeking community, this is an opportunity to share deep, and connections with others on their own journeys.

The day begins with a ceremonial setting of intentions. Silence and fasting follow as the bell is rung at sunrise and we walk about as individuals, find our space, and remain for the entirety of the day. As shadows lengthen, a closing bell calls you back to our gathering place. Together, we close the space with ritual, integration conversation, and a communal breaking of the fast.

The intention is to allow space for contemplation so that we can listen to deeper layers and receive messages from within ourselves. This emergence is a form of sense-making and healing.  Through fasting and staying still, we allow for attention so that these understandings can rise with ease.

LOGISTICS

Prior to our day-long together, we will have a preparatory meeting over Zoom so that all your questions will be answered and you can meet the group, or you can join me for a 20-minute free consult.

On the day of our quest, we begin promptly. We will meet at the parking lot behind and above the Occidental Community Center. We will begin with an opening ritual, tea, and greet the first morning light. We will set intentions, and silence will commence as the bell is rung at sunrise. As individuals, we will walk about, find our space, and stay there for the entirety of the day. As the shadows get long towards the end of the day, you will hear a closing bell, and guide yourself back to our gathering space. There will be a group closing ritual, integration conversation, and a communal breaking of the fast.

The goal of this experience is to allow emergent interior messages and contemplation to emerge as a form of sense-making and healing.  Through fasting and staying still, we allow for attention so that these understandings can be easily accessed.

This will be a day of fasting, and we will have emergency food available for you. You will have water throughout the day.

We will gather again in the week that follows for a group integration.

For folks that are new to this process, you are invited to pre-book a one on one experience, and will be invited after registration.
